Article writing is such a wide open field. You can write on just about anything from sports to music to zebras if you like. One of the most fascinating areas to write about is current events. But writing about current events has its pitfalls. In this article, I’m going to go over the pros and cons of writing about stuff in the news. You may or may not want to tackle these after reading this little piece.

Using keywords

It’s impossible to write web content without worrying about keywords. Writing articles for websites usually revolve around the “keywords” that the client gives you. These keywords help search engine crawlers recognize the relevance of your articles.

As a web content writer, you should be able to repeat these keywords throughout your article without making them stick out or sound awkward. Good article writers for websites are also able to control their keyword repetition. When a client asks for a very specific keyword density, you should be able to give him/her exactly what s/he wants.

So, how do you do this?

Here are three simple tips – they may seem obvious. But it’s amazing the difference it will make if you give them a little thought:

1. Use language that is easy for the average reader to understand – avoid industry jargon.

2. Focus on writing articles that teach specific things. THINK of yourself as a teacher. Use plenty of “How To” articles.

3. Be passionate about your subject. Your words will mean so much more to your readers if they feel you are speaking from the heart.

But what about five years from now when all the hoopla dies down? What’s going to happen to all these articles? Oh sure, there will still be a few people who will look for Michael Jackson articles, but it’s not going to be like the craziness of today. These articles will get very few views down the road.

When your readers see that you are continually adding to your resources and providing them with educational material on a regular basis they will respect you for standing the test of time. More importantly, they will believe that what you TEACH them will stand the test of time too. Learning how to be a good teacher is a Skill
